It’s prime season to get a job at Amazon.
The online retail giant has announced its holiday hiring plans, with more than 120,000 seasonal jobs to be filled across the country. More than 12,000 of those positions will be at its warehouse and distribution centers in California.
“We look forward to welcoming back holiday employees who return year-after-year to Amazon and welcome new faces to the team, many of whom will continue on with regular, full-time roles with the company after the holidays,” said Dave Clark, Amazon Senior Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment.
Amazon operates fulfillment centers in Patterson and Tracy and just announced plans to open a delivery center in Manteca. Last year the company hired about 10,000 holiday workers in California.
The number of seasonal workers added to handle the holiday season rush is expected to nearly doubles the company’s regular full-time ranks. The ec-ommerce behemoth has some 125,000 permanent, full-time employees at 75 fulfillment centers across the country.
Candidates interested in available positions can find information and apply online at www.amazon.com/peakjobs.
